Paediatric ADHD Assessment in Birmingham
Clear Answers. Expert Care. A Path Forward.
Navigating your child’s neurodevelopmental journey can feel overwhelming.
At DualCare Paediatrics, we provide a calm, professional, and highly experienced environment to help you understand your child’s unique needs.
Led by Consultant Paediatrician, Dr Siddharth Jain, with over 22 years of NHS experience in Paediatric Neurology and Neurodisability, I offer Paediatric ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) assessments in Birmingham that look at the whole child, not just a checklist of symptoms.

What is ADHD?
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects how the brain processes information, regulates energy levels, and controls impulses. It is not a matter of "willpower" or a lack of discipline; rather, it is a biological difference in the brain's "executive functions", the management system that helps us plan, focus, and execute tasks.
ADHD is sometimes under recognised in girls, as they may present without obvious hyperactivity.
Is an ADHD assessment right for your child?
Early intervention is the key to helping a child thrive. You may want to consider a private assessment if your child:
-
Struggles to focus: Easily distracted or finds it difficult to follow instructions.
-
Is constantly "on the go": High levels of hyperactivity or impulsivity.
-
Has school difficulties: Teachers have flagged concerns about behaviour or academic progress.
-
Emotional challenges: Experiences intense "big feelings," anxiety, or low mood.
-
Hidden symptoms: We specialise in identifying ADHD in girls, who often mask symptoms or present without obvious hyperactivity.

Ongoing support & shared care
A diagnosis is just the beginning. I offer continued care to ensure your child has the tools they need to succeed:
-
Medication management: Careful initiation and monitoring of treatment.
-
School advocacy: Documentation to help your child access the right educational support.
-
Shared care: Some GPs will agree to a shared care agreement once a diagnosis has been established and the child is on a stable dose of medication. Check with your GP, and if they are willing to enter into the shared care agreement and prescribe the medications, we will send the shared care protocol to your GP.
